New Year’s Eve U2charist: An Evangelism & Mission Success!
Once again the Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church was filled to capacity at our 2009 New Year’s Eve U2charist. Visitors made up the majority of the congregation. This annual U2charist benefits the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through the work of Episcopal Relief & Development. A total of $5,540 was raised that night, along with t-shirt sales.
Many thanks to all Palmer volunteers who helped with the service and reception, especially the A/V team of Pat Robson, Ross Heinsohn, Bob Adolph, and Wesley Fryar. Special thanks to Anthony Orona and the Palmer Youth Ministry who handled t-shirt sales.
Mark your calendars for our next U2charist, to be held on December 31, 2010. We invite you to join us and be filled with hope for your future and the future of all.
About the Millennium Development Goals
The MDGs are eight goals to be achieved by 2015 that respond to the world’s main development challenges. They are drawn from the actions and targets contained in the Millennium Declaration that was adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000.
The eight MDGs break down into 21 quantifiable targets that are measured by 60 indicators.
